I know I'm getting old when I start asking for kitchen gadgets for Christmas, like a slow cooker. I know there's nothing really new and exciting about a crock pot, but I've never had one before, and I never remember my mom using one when I was a kid. But according to Pinterest, they're all the rage because all I see are countless crock pot pins. They all look so delicious and I'm still amazed by the fact that you just throw things into the pot and let it cook. You don't have to do anything! So here are a few slow cookers I've got my eye on. Let me know if you have any recommendations!
First on the list is the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking system. It has six diffrent functions: steam roast, bake, sear, slow cook, simmer and saute. Talk about a multi-tasker! Plus it comes with a removable roasting rack, multi-purpose pan, and silicone petite muffin tray and is supposed to be a breeze to clean.
Now here's your average slow cooker made by the original Crock-Pot. At only $50, it's definitely more reasonable than the Ninja, but who knows if I'd actually use it for anything else than a slow cooker. According to the 4.3 out of 5 stars on Amazon, can you really go wrong with this one?
Then again, why do I need a 6-quart slow cooker when I'm cooking for one or maybe even two? Here's a simple 3-quart for less than $20. At that price, I don't mind that it only has 4 settings - off, low, high, and warm.
